For the English translation of Mélikah Abdelmoumen’s book examining the friendship between two literary greats – James Baldwin and William Styron – through her own personal experience as a racialized woman, I opted for a 1960s typographic “book look.” It seemed fitting to play with that look so people could immediately identify the two authors’ era. The interior closely follows the layout cues from the French, but with my own typographic twists.
