Sometimes it’s difficult to to use archival images on covers, if only because they are static due to technological restrictions (long exposures) or they were never shot with the intention of gracing a book cover. So, to add some spark, I tilted everything to give the reader a sense of the mayhem within the walls of Kingston Penitentiary during the 1971 riot.
