For the third edition of this textbook, UTP Higher Education asked me to overhaul and modernize the design as well as add a bit of colour. The second edition’s cover used a nautilus shell on the cover, which I adapted here by adding in the Golden Mean diagramming (to represent both natural and physical science groups).

For the interior, I opted for a wide single-column layout that used the wide outer margins for image and diagram placement. All maps and diagrams were updated or redrawn using the two-colour palette. It was a huge task bringing together timelines, text, sidebars, and all of the images, but my inner geek loved it all. Fun stuff.
